Prague Spring International Music Festival
Prague in the Czech Republic is called the “City of Music” because of its deep relation to world-class musicians.
Prague holds a three-week annual classical music festival from May to June.
This global festival, the Prague Spring International Music Festival, is well-known for its long tradition and outstanding performance.
The festival also known as the Prague Spring began in 1964 to celebrate Prague's independence.
To mark the beginning of the festival, a Prague-born musician Bedrich Smetana’s Ma Vlast is played on May 12.
Since then, a variety of musical performances including symphonies, operas, and chamber music are delivered throughout the city.
There is also the Prague Spring International Music Competition, where young performers under the age of 30 can participate.
Through this competition, young performers can a have chance to have their names up.
More than 90,000 people from all over the world visit the Czech Republic to enjoy the beautiful music in the Prague Spring.
