World Water Day
World Water Day was designated by the United Nations and marked annually on March 22nd.
It provides an opportunity to learn more about water related issues.
The issues deal with water problems like water shortage, pollution and sanitation.
Celebrating the day with a variety of events encourages people to make a difference in the society.
For example, the World Water Day campaigns raise funds and public awareness for their water projects.
Also, they organize seminars, expositions and educational programs to emphasize the importance of “clean water, sanitation and hygiene” (WASH).
The theme for this year is “Leave no one behind.”
It means that everyone, regardless of their gender, age, race or disability, needs rights to access safe water.
Every year, they come up with a new theme to promote awareness of the importance of water.
