In Australia, there is a large lavender plantation, which is a beautiful place to walk past smelling the lovely scents of the lavender.
Lavender crops can last for up to 15 years.
Only the heads of the flowers are taken when they harvest the crops.
No irrigation is used on the farm; the lavender is grown using only the rainwater.
It’s harvested for export, mostly to Europe and Japan, leaving only 15% for the Australian market.
The products made from lavender are endless; from bath salts, natural remedies, perfumes and paper products. But they're not cheap!
