At the 92nd Academy Awards in 2020, Korean filmmaker Bong Joon Ho won four awards: Best Picture, Director, Original Screenplay and International Feature Film.

Since he made his directing debut in 1994 with a short film called White Man, many of his films, The Host, Okja, Snowpiercer, and Parasite, have been successful.
Parasite has won a total of 176 awards at domestic and international film festivals, which is the highest winning record for a Korean film.
It shows that he and his film Parasite are receiving a lot of attention and positive reviews around the world.
The director's humble attitude and humorous remarks during the ceremy also drew much attention.
